Great Wireless Router for Travel July 15, 2010 Henry T. Bluing (CA USA) This is a great wireless router. I use it on travel and it allows me to connect multiple wireless devices to the hotels wired internet giving me the mobility I need to be more productive. Coverage is good and I'm able to run multiple wireless devices simultaneously without any performance degradation. I'd recommend this device to anyone who uses multiple wireless devices on the road.
D-link Wireless May 4, 2010 Raymond T. Chin (Owings, MD) This is excellent product. Powered with A/C or with USB off computer. Great for Access Point, Client or LAN connection. Pricing is great too.
Perfect for any traveler who wants to stay connected wirelessly!! March 28, 2010 K. Fox (Chicago, IL United States) I love this router! It's very small and perfect for anyone who wants wireless internet on the go. It's compact enough to be used anywhere and supports multiple devices very well. It comes in handy when you travel to places with little to no wifi. I love that I can use my laptop and multiple wifi enabled devices while i'm in my hotel room. I am able to seemlessly skype and check email or browse the internet.
Set-up is ok, you need to be somewhat knowledgeable about setting up a wifi network and understanding AP vs. Client Mode, etc. This took me a while to figure out but the instructions were pretty clear. I love the face there is a USB charge and A/C plug -- comes in handy for international travel. The bag is great too to so it packs away nicely when you are traveling.
Perfect for my iPod Touch! March 20, 2010 C. Wyndham (Illinois, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I often encounter hotel rooms with cable internet connections only (no WiFi), which doesn't help me when I want to use my iPod Touch to check my email, surf the web, or maybe check the weather forecast. I bought this pocket router to solve the problem, and does so very nicely.
Setup was a total non-event. I plugged in the Cat-5 cable from the wall, and plugged in the router's power supply. Ten seconds later I entered the hotel's password on my Safari browser and fifteen seconds after that, I was online.
Curious about its range, I took my iPod out into the hall and started walking. I got about 75 feet away before losing the signal, but that was through multiple walls of the hotel -- plenty far enough for what I'll be using it for.
The zippered case is great, but it's far larger than the actual router. You could fit the unit and its wall power supply into a much smaller space if you wanted to pack really light.
Great unit!
Great buy for the traveler.... February 5, 2010 John S. Sones (Newnan, GA USA) I bought this to use when on travel and am pleased with its ease of use. This is a great device!
